The City Council is organized into five standing committees having specified legislative oversight responsibilities. City Councilors also sit on the Traffic Commission and the Community Schools Advisory Board. Jass Stewart serves on four committees—highlighted below.
Accounts Committee
Thomas Monahan (Chair), Thomas Brophy, Timothy Cruise, Michelle DuBois, Jass Stewart
Committee on accounts, to consist of five (5) councillors to examine all accounts and to allow and approve them if they are found correct.
Finance Committee
All members of the City Council
Committee on finance, which shall consist of the president and ten (10) councilllors, and shall consider all matter of appropriations and loans, and in gneral any matter affecting the finanical intersts of the city.
Ordinance Committee
Christopher MacMillan (Chair), Thomas Monahan, Todd Petti, Jass Stewart, Robert Sullivan
Committte on ordinances and rules, to consistst of five (5) councilllors, to consider the advisability and merit of any ordinance referred to it, as well as the form and legality thereto and to consider all proposed rules of order and procedure.
Public Safety Committee
Dennis Eaniri (chair), Dennis DeNapoli, Christopher MacMillan, Thomas Monahan, Todd Petti
Committee on public safety, to consist of five (5) councillors, to consider all matters affecting the police and fire departments of the city, and in general, matters affecting the public health or safety of the community.
Real Estate Committee
Robert Sullivan (Chair), Dennis Eaniri, Michelle DuBois, Timothy Cruise, Christopher MacMillan
Committee on real estate, to consist of five (5) councillors, to consider matters pertaining to the sale of city-owned land.
